Description:
The Concerto in D minor belongs to a group of Telemann's compositions for two violins, viola and basso continuo that has been largely ignored by musical research and practice to date. Perhaps the reason for this lies in the designation "concerto", as these works lack a dominant solo part. Instead, they are "concerti a quattro" or "concerti ripieni".
This edition contains both the original version for strings and the version for flute quartet, which was originally thought to be authentic and is preserved in a Paris print from 1752.
