Description:
The "Gloria in D" RV 589 is one of Vivaldi's best-known sacred works. The musically representative work in the style of a so-called "cantata mass" is divided into 12 parts, which differ in instrumentation, movement type, key and emotional content. Vivaldi's mastery is equally evident in the solemn, sonorous choral movements and in the more chamber music-like solo movements.
The arrangement of this masterpiece for choir SSAB by Christiane Rosiny is aimed at choirs with few men and at youth choirs. While the soprano and bass remain almost unchanged, the middle parts are arranged for soprano and alto. If the size of the work is an obstacle, the well-thought-out shortening suggestions make things easier. They shorten the rehearsal time without sacrificing the character of entire sections of the work. In addition to the score, a piano reduction and a choral score are also available. The orchestra uses the parts of the original version. - First volume of the new series KLANGSTARK. Masterpieces arranged for choir with one male voice
