Description:
The "Gloria in D" RV 589 is one of Vivaldi's most famous sacred works. The musically representative work in the style of a so-called "cantata mass" is divided into 12 parts, which differ in instrumentation, type of set, key and emotional content. Vivaldi's mastery is equally evident in the solemn and sonorous choral movements as well as in the more chamber music-like solo movements.
The arrangement of this masterpiece for choir SSAB by Christiane Rosiny is aimed at choirs with few men and youth choirs. While soprano and bass remain almost unchanged, the middle voices are arranged for soprano and alto. If the scope of the work is a hurdle, the well-thought-out proposals for cuts bring relief. They shorten the rehearsal time without sacrificing the character of entire parts of the work. In addition to the score, a piano reduction and a choral score are available. The orchestra uses the parts of the original version. - First volume of the new series KLANGSTARK. Masterpieces arranged for choir with a male voice
