Description:
Venetian version
The Laudate pueri was composed between 1735 and 1749 for the Ospedale degl'Incurabili in Venice. As this was a musical training center for talented girls and young women, the vocal parts are cast with female voices. As Kapellmeister at the Saxon-Polish court in Dresden, Hasse was also responsible for church music and therefore also arranged works that he had written for the Venetian Ospedale. After the Dresden version has already been published in the Hasse edition, the original composition is now presented here for the first time.
