Description:
Bach's famous cantata for solo soprano, trumpet, strings and basso continuo BWV 51, "Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen", was probably composed in Leipzig in 1730. The soprano and trumpet parts in particular impress with their virtuosity.
For a performance in Halle, Bach's eldest son Wilhelm Friedemann added a second trumpet part and timpani to the original set of parts for numbers 1 and 4, further enhancing the glamorous character of the work.
This part arrangement has been published for the first time as supplementary performance material. The version by Wilhelm Friedemann Bach can be used in combination with the previously available string parts.
