Description:
The present Laudate Dominum RV 614 is written for solo soprano and alto, mixed chorus, 2 violins, 2 horns and organ continuo though Vivaldi usually writes his music for four string parts (2 violins, viola and bass) whereas the church trio (2 violins and bass) is usually of German tradition, as can be found in all Mozart's or Michael Haydn's masses written for Salzburg. If the main thematic unit of this short piece is truly rhythmically vivaldian, the two voices writing style (particularly high for the soprano) does not particularly remind of Vivaldi's style. Music copies used to travel among all european musical centres because of the composers and interpreters travelling. In fact, special relations between Venice and Breslau did exist.
