Description:
The opera Naïs, which premiered at the Académie royale in the Palais-Royal in Paris on April 22, 1749 to celebrate the signing of the so-called 'Peace of Aachen' and was revived in August 1764, shortly before Rameau's death, achieved great success as a peace opera, even though it was not published in print during the composer's lifetime.
This volume contains all the symphonies (dances and orchestral pieces) from Rameau's stage works in the same order as in the corresponding volume of the complete edition (BA08857). The retained bar numbering and the adopted references to the Critical Report make it possible to use this orchestral score in parallel with the Complete Edition and to look up relevant passages in the Critical Report of the Complete Edition.
