Description:
Based on my arrangement of the Inventions for two violoncellos from 2016 (E.D. 12660), the idea arose to set up an arrangement for viola (viola) and violoncello as well. Apart from a sonata by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, there are no works worth mentioning for such a instrumentation. The necessary transpositions from the first edit have been retained. Octaves compared to the original were necessary in some places, but could be made without violating the thematic material. Playing instructions (e.g. bowing) were almost completely dispensed with in order to give the musicians a basis of interpretative freedom. Decorations were also only carefully entered on the basis of the original versions. (Rolf Hennig-Scheifes)
