Ein weiteres spanisch getöntes Werk folgt: Capricho espagñol, von Hubert Léonard. Wie Charles de Bériot war auch er ein belgischer Violinist, Komponist und Geigenlehrer. Lénoard studierte zunächst am Konservatorium in Brüssel, wechselte dann zur weiteren Ausbildung nach Paris, spielte in verschiedenen Orchestern und bereiste als Virtuose ganz Europa. Ein Jahr unterrichtete er in der Nachfolge von Bériot am Brüsseler Königlichen Konservatorium, kehrte dann aber wieder in die französische Metropole zurück: als Solist, Kammermusiker, Lehrer und Komponist. Das Œuvre Léonards, ein Freund von Henri Vieux temps, umfasst das zu seiner Zeit gern Gehörte: Konzertantes, Pädagogisches und 'Futter' für die musikalischen Salons. Dazu zählt auch das Capricho espagñol, ein virtuoses und effektvolles Kabinettstückchen. Gewidmet ist es einem seiner Geigenschüler: Luis Sambucetti aus Uruguay. Stichnummer 24568, veröffentlicht 1888.
