The fourth volume of the successfully launched Urtext edition contains compositions for three-manual organ from Dubois' time as organist at the Madeleine in Paris, alongside the already published Volume II and Volume III, which is expected to appear at the beginning of 2008. "Die Douze Pièces Nouvelles" and the "Offertoire pour la fête de l'Ascension" (also known as "Ascendit Deus") are straightforward in their external form and, like many other works by the master, reflect his intention to create compositions that can be played in both church services and concerts.

In addition to facsimile pages, the edition contains a critical report (German, English, French) with a list of sources and a detailed preface, similar to the volumes already published. It provides information on Dubois' biography as well as on instrumental and practical performance issues.
