Description:

Louis Vierne (1870-1937) was a private pupil of César Franck and was appointed titular organist at Notre-Dame (Paris) in 1900.

Based on the first edition, Volume II contains the 2nd Organ Symphony of the master's total of six organ symphonies.
The 2nd Symphony is conceived according to the principles of the cyclical sonata. The present edition emphasizes, among other things, a careful comparison of Vierne's registration indications with the first edition. Practical placement within the musical text has been taken into account.
