Look, spring is here. Open the doors, open the windows. The sun invites us to blow away the gloom. The warmth returns to our bones.

The text No. 143 from the Codex Buranus is self-explanatory, a cheerful, wholly moral painting of spring spreads out before us. Springtime and the joys that accompany it are described lovingly and colorfully. The music supports this statement. A soft 6/8 time makes us sway in the gentle breeze.

The middle section with the text of No. 144 is more energetic. Towards the end, the cradle rhythm is taken up again, whereby the last bars are a composed jubilation of hope. It expresses the wish that love should now take over. A sympathetic audience will be able to agree with this without exception.
